either roll back your new machine to XP or create two partitions one for Vista and one for XP.

    Common programs with vista
Insight (concept) no problems once given admin access.
Titan (tecum) Run in compatibility modes works with the odd crash.
dl900 (Nx 16 etc) could not get to run at all, crashes on startup no matter what configuration tried.
dsc9000?? (DSC envoy, etc) no problems.

The latest verion of internet explorer does not work with a number of web embeded devices, ranging from failure to connect to crashing. Mozilla seems to get around most of those problems.

I have a bunch of other oddball software that I use thats often several years old. Probaly 40% works on install, another 20% works after playing with settings.

Hyperterminal not included, grap a copy online.

For various company reasons I wasnt allowed to install second partition or rollback. Now carry a 8gig bootable usb drive with xp.

    Edit:
External usb floppy drive - no drivers does not work in vista.
usb to RS232 convertor - no drivers does not work in vista. Brought a new "keyspan" brand for vista.

    If your having problems with the latest IE that comes with Vista try this;

It will run IE7 in a IE6 mode that can trick some pages into running, best of all it is only for the one session.

You can make the change stick by a reg edit so IE7 acts as IE6 all the time.

Can confirm also that the Bosch Solution link software won't run under vista since it is running an incompatible version of SQL.
Can check the new access control as well in the next few days but I am pretty sure it is the same.

Solution Link has been Vista compatible since version 1.15.
I have been using this version on laptop since Oct 07.

Contact Bosch or Digiflex and they will advise how to obtain an upgrade if you have older version.

Not sure why you would have trouble running IE7 with Vista given that MS supply IE7 with Vista. I haven’t yet found a page that wont load in IE7.

Right you are about solution link last time I tried it was a few versions ago and many months back, my mistake there.

The IE7 problem is to do with the way pages are written, I have only come accross 1 site that does not work myself and this UAS tool fixed it for me.

Compass software is what you are after. Requires specific modem also. Just another way for Ademco to get you to part with your cash.
