Default Software for Managing Website Content

    .
I am doing some tinkering and would like to get some feedback here on what available software apps are out there that are easy to use for managing the content of a website I am currently playing around with.

As the site really basic I am not looking for anything special. I also assume there may be some freeware available for this as well?

    Any feedback will be appreciated

    frontpage is another
the catch with html programs is
say you make a 10 page site
if you want to delete or make a new page
you need to edit each 1 to remove or add the links
such is why cms is so good

Yep, CMS (content management systems) is the way to go..... like WordPress, Joomla, & Drupal

WordPress is very easy to use....... but I guess its a new learning curve for someone who hasn't used it,

The Front end, is the web page, & the back end, is where you add or remove content,

adding /removing Pages, & posts, & widgets, & themes, is a little bit like editing the look & content of a forum, (tick boxes fill in content etc...)

There are Lots of Plugins, to add Mail Forms, FAQ's, Photo gallery etc....

& you can add Databases etc....

It is so easy to edit or add content,

once the Website is made, you can show the customer how to add or remove content to pages, if they want to.

    G'Day All,

Just so happens I managed to get a site working in 4 hours... As a heads up this was my first time EVER with web pages HTML or Wordpress. I feel confident if I can do it then anyone else can do it in half the time. now i've got it going I intend to go to TAFE and get some lessons in HTML from the ground up so to speak.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi there

Would anyone have any updates or advice for Web designing/hosting since posts were last placed here?

In particular is there anything that can be used with a Macbook - I am sure someone was telling me recently that the Macbook has some program built in ...at least to a basic level
