New to GPS iCN 520 Navman Question

Hi,

I am in need of some help. I have been given a Navman iCN 520 it is running maps 3.5 (does that make sense?) , It is not showing a lot of the new areas and I have been told I have to upgrade the Maps.

I took it to DickSmith who said they can do it for $150 another palce said they are not making new maps for this model and there is an upgrade offer for $170 to an s30 or something.

My questions are , does any one know if they make map upgrades still?
Is there a link to somewhere with some info I can get these upgrades free?

Googel show little info of assistance nor does the Navman site.

Matt you are correct. I currently have an icn520 which iam about to upgrade to the new GPS due to no more map upgrades for this model. Mate dont bother spending money on further map upgrade for this model as whichever upgrade you get it will not be the current 2007 upgrade.

If you check out the Navman website it tells you what you can do with your current model and gives you options which new model you would like to upgrade with.

I will be sending mine in as they have a trade in offer and will be getting the s80 model for $300 which isnt a bad deal. Or you can get the s30 for $179 i think it was.

Thanks for the info. As I suspected, its a convenient trap for Navman owners then also.

It is buddy, i have no problems with the icn520 its just a shame they discontinue map upgrades for this model. I guess its their way of forcing people to upgrade to the newer GPS's

Its also a shame you cant keep it for a small amount and convert to a PDA.
