    Default Bosch VIP X1 Encoder

I have a site using bosch vip x1 encoders but don't have the user name and password set by last tech, can someone please advise if there is a master or a way to reset it (not keen on defaulting but will if last resort). The camera input is fine and the ethernet out is media converted to fibre back to the DVR. Just need to log into the encoder, cheers.

    Default

Any device which allows you to reset the password, but not the underlying data, or which has a readily obtained override password, is inherently insecure and the password is a waste of time in the first place.

Try the default passwords. If that's no good, I'd say you're out of luck. Having said that, the settings on video encoders are usually quite straightforward.

    Default

cheers, not too fussed, going to default, just hoping for a quick solution, we use plenty of them around the place although I found the techs installer code on a concept panel today so I'm going to try that next time I'm on site.
