    G'Day Cobber,
If you have an Austar subscription, they should fix that.
Check that the box LNB Installation menu is set the same as the LNB. (10700).
Check the output H/V, 18/13 Volts from the box and at the LNB.
Check cables for continuity and shorts with a multimeter.
Is it a single tuner or twin?
    Was it previously working?

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

We have 4 boxes between 4 households haha.. The other 2 work fine, but this one isnt working - signal strength wise. When Austar setup the boxes the other day, all were working Check the output H/V, 18/13 Volts from the box and at the LNB - A little confused with this, what do you mean exactly ? The LNB is a single tune, have tried a double as well - noo luck, same result signal strength again on 0.. Cheers

If you can take that STB back to where you know one is working and try it.
If it works there then you obviously have a problem with your installation.
At this current location, is this a new dish, lnb, cable etc ?
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

    ela re.

try getting the other austar box which is working onto your connection. IF it works, then the issue is with your austar box. If it doesn't work, the issue could be with your LNB or dish alignment.

Yeah, I just tried it again with the other working austar box but same result, Noo Signal at all.. IS there a special way that the LNB should be positioned ? I would have thought that I would at least have a couple percent signal strength.. Ill jump back on that roof !! Thanks Guys !

    Whoa Boy,
    now you have me confused.
Are the 4 boxes fed by one dish/ LNB or separately from individual dishes?
Seems to be a missing box?
The 18/13 Volts supplied by the box is used to set the LNB to either Horizontal (18V) or Vertical (13V) as you change channels.
If you do not get this at the box, the box is faulty.
If OK at the box, but not at the LNB, there is a fault in your Cabling.
If Austar set up the boxes at the same household on the one dish, they would have used a Twin/Dual output LNB into a Multiswitch, and then to the 4 boxes.
Even if you only get single tuner boxes, with a new Installation, they would cable it for twin tuners in case you upgraded.
This may explain your reluctance to reveal what exactly is the setup.

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

You sure as hell, need to set up the dish with Azimuth, (Direction relative to True North), Elevation, (up/down) and the LNB Skew (twist of the LNB in it's holder).
Once you get a signal from the correct Satellite, you can fine tune in small increments.
Use this program to get the correct details for your location, enter your address and select C1/D3 Satellites as they are Co-located and you need to scan them as one.

make sure your details for freq, FEC, Symbol rate, polarity are all correct.

    Freq 12478
    Symbol Rate 27800
    Polarity Horizontal
    FEC 3/4
    LNB Freq 10700

@beer4life, i think he has 4 boxes at 4 different peoples houses.

I'm fully aware of that, but moved from original installation.
He's also oblivious of the pointing requirements.

@tuffgreek, Have you made sure your LNB is turned. my roof is too difficult to get onto and see otherwise i'd get up and check it out. Maybe somebody on here can have at theirs.

Silly question but is your dish aligned correctly?

pou re gamoto....... How old is the LNB? Austar changed their LNB a while back so this may be the issue. Where abouts in wollongong are you based? you can go to MAD electronics in Windang and get an LNB from there. I paid $60 for mine from there. Worked straight away.

Tuff, you havent said if this is a new (dish/LNB/Cable) or an old previously used Austar one.
If the dish/LNB were already there, why the new one and cables ??
Also has the dish been used in the last 2 years because if not as Beer4life said Austar did a change to the LNB's and an LNB over 2 yrs old possibly wont work.
One a pre existing dish setup, it pays to note the angle the LNB was installed before replacing it, usualy it has the cable hanging down around the 5pm mark, thats called the 'Scew'.
Have a look at any others in your area for a guide.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
