Tom Tom and Garmin Opensource I suspect are the options for NZ.

Default TomTom Maps only work with

TomTom Maps are available but they do not work on Windows Mobile 5 and PDA - most probably designed for TomTom One and Go 920 and the like

Garmin Que is fiddly - the output from an external GPS Satellite Receiver (Globalsat, etc) output is NMEA and have to be changed so that the protocols can input into Garmin Que. When Garmin Que is used with an intermediary GPS Proxy to convert the protocol from an external satellite receiver for Garmin - it is most flaky. Works some time and without warning does not work.

Maps like NZ OPen Source work on Garmin - but found it difficult to use

Therefore looking at MioMap or Igo
I believe that Igo have maps for NZ and MioMap and Igo are the same

    OK

    Then the search is on.

Do u have any evidence of Mio maps for NZ (and yes they'll work on IGO).

I used Garmin Que on my ASUS PDA WM5 and it worked perfectly.
So if you have WM5 PDA youve got NZ maps

Igo does not have current maps for NZ.
Mio had one available from 2005. It doesn't work with new versions of the mio software/igo software (old mio software was based on destinator).

I have New Zealand v711.1692 maps on my TomTom. They are 30mb in size compressed so not big at all.

The map can be downloaded from here.

I too have an ASUS GPS PDA. I've managed to install the Garmin program, but, am unable to get it to detect my internal GPS.

    How have you overcome this?

    Thanks.
