Had an open box here a while back,could enter full details and it would update,acording to owner still working ok.

Enabled the emulator

have I done something wrong above?

has anyone had any success in upgrading one of these decoders.
mine is a DT-480 dreamax....
I can not even connect to it via loader 1..
i gather its null modem...
can anyone instruct me how its done.

I upgraded to 5.33, from memory needed to do following

set receiver to receive
run loader
load firmware
power cycle receiver.

my dreamax 480 is currently 5.19 should i upgrade to 5.33 what benifets are there for upgrading to 5.33.

i have done what u have said and still nothing...
if i change cable to serial i have no problem talking to any other decoder ie humax, dreambox, cubecafe....
its this one bloddy decoder i cant connect to....any other thoughts out there.

jsat, try setting the port settings on the decoder to the same as your computers serial port, there is a setting in the menu for serial port......

only real benefit with latest firmware(for us) is better handling of different aspect ratios with widescreens.

still no go with our nds cards, but whitey and aurora are fine....

yep tried that hoe and no go mate.
this unit has a problem...every key change and it has a crack sound and pic freezes for a fraction....and pixels....
got me stuffed why i cant connect to it..maybe its got a problem...
any other idea's.

You need 2 lots of Software
1. All Updater ver. 1
2. Pobedit
3. Software Update l used 5.33

Start pobedit and back all your channels and save to your PC
Go Menu, Installation, Initialize STB and press ok to reset
then de-power the open box

Start Software updater and load your 5.33 software and press connect
Re-power your openbox and the upload should start it is finished when you see 8 displayed on the openbox

Reload all your channels with pobedit and restart your openbox

mate i seen software on that site...u cant download from there as it asks for user and pass...
i didnt see any where that explained how to do it....
thanks anyway....

didnt fix problem with pixelation at every key change....worth a try tho...

but new software doesnt have our sats in there...dreamsat dt-480 does...
