Its a version 18. The Modbo 745 will work on it. Not sure of the other chips out there, but I wouldnt be too surprised to find that most of the chips which work on the 79002 would work on them.

Shouldnt need it mate, but thats probably best answered in a few months time, much like most other new models, it takes a while to work out if there is any problems with them.

Has anyone tried the duo modchip? Looks like the new PS2's have the power supply inbuilt. Could'nt find the proper location for the 3.3V for the modchip. The diagrams show a fuse, but the one I have has a resistor in place.

I can't seem to get it to work. Did you end up connecting CX? And what is the F point they refer to on the diagram?

    I normally follow the diagram.
I don't think I can use my head to work out where the go as I wouldn't have a clue which point is for what.

Has anyone tried the Modbo 4.0 with the V1.99 firmware on it, Have had no luck so far with this chip with the 1.99 firmware in this model, Have found the chip to be bullet proof in other models but been over and over my instal and it seems good but cant get it too work in this one, Might be me? Anyone else having dramas?

I am not sure of this but I had some clone modbo4.0 which had 1.99 in them, the original modbo have 1.93. I not sure if this has anything to do with it though. I have only done a few 90002 and they have all been with 1.93 originals. BTW I have never had any problems with the 1.99 but I do not stock them any more.

Thanks for your help guys - Much appreciated. Oz were the chips you used (or using) for this model have the 1.93 or 1.99 firmware on them? Thanks mate.
