Any ideas?
Does anyone know what happens if I take my HDD from my 360 that still has an exploitable dash (2548 i think) and use this on a new up to date 360 (I wanna play GTA IV) what will happen if I then plug this back into my old 360?
I worried that when I plug it in it will automatically upgrade the dash that I have managed to keep exploitable for over a year now.
Cheers

Any ideas?
to be honest mate , i really have no idea , but I will get back to you on this one
You cannot swap the DVDRom from one 360 to another without the Drive key. Surely they will have a similar protection for the HDD.
Why do you want to keep the "exploitable" firmware anyway ?? Flashing is done to the DVDRom and there isnt much chance for you needing an exploitable firmware in the future that im aware of.
Regards
The HDD is not linked to any particular 360, only the DVD-ROM.
I want to keep the exploitable dashboard, not the firmware. Hopefully in the future this will allow homebrew to run from the console so I can use thing like XBMC on the 360 with its full processing power.
I think there is more chance of a modchip or custom firmware than anyone using the "exploitable" dash. I havnt been keeping tabs but last time i looked there wasnt much work on this. If they ever do sort something like that there will be a downgrader for sure.
Why dont you just use a memory card for your save games on the "new" 360 and then when you transfer saves back to your "exploitable" 360 it wont have the dash update.
If the new 360 has already been updated to the latest version it shouldnt need to download and keep the files on the "old" hdd.
My 2c anyway
They have the downgrader working at the moment, but its still a bit of a nightmare to achieve.
Im using a memory stick at the moment, but would prefer to use the hdd if possible.
