VAST/ VAST news channels

G'day all;

Am I correct in assuming this new VAST service isn't like aurora, e.g can't access all channels in all timezones like in the aurora gold card days? Is there any way to tune in to a single service set in the same way that you can get a gold card for all aurora services unofficialy? What about the news channels ( - are they encrypted also?

Yes, that's right.

Nope. The VAST platform is locked up tighter than a 12 year old back injury. No one's managed to create a 'gold card' alternative or similar.

Yep, and they're only available to North and South viewers with commercial services activated.

And with no EPG you havent a clue when News for your area or anybody elses is on.
All I know so far is at 7pm Mon to Fri, the news from Prime 'Orange/Dubbo' area is rebroadcast on ch 420.
I think its repeated again later that night.
