    Exclamation Samsung Galaxy P1000 - Stuffed 3G?

    Hello All,

I bought this Samsung Galaxy P1000 off eBay for $325 + $5 postage in September 2011. The seller claimed it was unlocked.

It runs OK, but when I put my Iinet phone chip in it I find I cannot make video calls (although I can make voice phone calls). Also I cannot surf the net with the 3G on the phone, even though the 3G indicator comes on (sometimes).

I need to sell the thing soon and am worried it's worth stuff all without the 3G.

I have bugged Iinet about the settings needed, they sent me an extensive set of instructions on inputting advanced settings. Still, no go.

If the 3G is properly kaput, what's this thing worth? The best offer I had so far is $100... I cannot accept that.

I went and sold my tablet for $200, could have got more.

I wrote to iinet and they gave me a mountain of instruction to get the tablet to work, no go.

The ironic thing is, the woman who bought it off me said she didn't know what 3G was! Also, I have a nephew who wanted a similar thing...

Set your APN to iinet. Once it is done 3g works without any interuption.

I had one of these for work, and it worked great, but not as a work tool.
Probably was either an APN issue, for the data pack, or a setting to disabe data use.

Either way it was a good device for sitting on the lounge sitting back and watching youtube and doing some light browsing just using the Wifi off the ADSL.

The 3G made it more handy when I had a few days in hospital.
But then my boss had to go to hospital, so he had me send it to him to keep him occupied...... I dont think I'll get it back.
