    Default Win4Net DVR?

    hey there,

does anyone know about the win4net PC based DVR system?
as i Googled , its between 5 to 8 yrs old,
its in a rack mount gray case
the issue im having is that it seems to have a administrator password even after a fresh install..meaning i cant view it over the net remotely,
does anyone know what a default password mite be,or to give it one hack it,or something to be able to remotely view it?

    thanks

    And therein lies your answer.

Videoman = EOS, they're in Auburn. Give them a ring.

tryed that, but saying incorrect password, but at install, there was nowere to do with usernames or passwords. default is the current user set, but does nothing, if i try to change user settings it asks for administrator password, and i have even tryed my windows administrator password, is there a .ini or registry for the program to manualy add?

just gave the default user a password and then reset it

anyone know where to get the older remote view software for it? i have new one but i think its not compatible with old version

if anyone knows where to get multiple different versions i can try, or may have an idea where to find some would be a great help,

Try EOS, they were the original company who imported the Win4Net DVR.
Also, i am fairly sure you can access the unit remotely via internet explorer, however, you need to enable the Webviewer feature in set-up.

    eos.com.au?
i have already emailed them asking about it, never got a response,
downloads, need a account to do anything, to create, need abn and company name,
as im only a home user, don't have all that,
as for IE yes can view but at the size of half a iphone screen, even with server setup as hi res type, and with IE cant control PTZ and quality is bad, compared to the actual unit

as for software, can i use other software with that card? such as the kodicom software?

    thanks

    hi,
sounds like you're stuck... and regarding kodicom or other software, it wont work.
your best bet may be to take the unit to eos and ask for a quote in defaulting the dvr, getting new & updated software, and anything else.
it wont be for free, but at least you have a full functional dvr (they are great units once up and running)

ahh well, i have new software but it doesnt like the card, doesnt recognise it, same as with a lot of pc based dvr's if there old, they only work with old software,
its up and running, just not 100% if i was able to get the new remote software to work with the old site software it would be great, ahh well, il have to get my kodicom unit rebuilt again, and try to get a later copy of the software for it,v4.3...
il email those eos people again, mabe they forgot to reply? or they dont reply to non business people?

anyway, i dont intend on spending money on it knowing something like that, its not going to be a simple 29$ bit of software..

    thanks anyway,
