    Post VAST with external PVR

I am not technically minded at all- but is it possible to connect an external PVR (like a beyonwiz) to record channels through the VAST satellite box?

It is not possible ATM with the existing DSD4121 Vast STB

But, New PVR Software is to be sent to existing Vast STB's (sometime after Christmas ) by OTA update, I think

You will then have to purchase a PVR kit....which includes the PVR Remote....

& then you will have to follow the instructions to activate your PVR Software,

that will then make it a PVR Vast STB, & then you can connect an externally powered Hard drive to the STB & make recordings etc....

The only way you can use your Vast STB as a PVR (by connecting an external Hard drive) ATM, is if you purchase a UEC RVR (ready) DSD4121PVR STB, with the PVR Remote.......

I believe the DSD4121PVR model Vast STB is being sold by some outlets ATM (& on Ebay)

    Good Luck

It has to be a device that can be detected as a hard drive. What you could do is buy a , then stick the Beyonwiz hard drive in there, but it would render your Beyonwiz useless and I'm pretty sure that's not what you're aiming for.

If you go on Ebay, they sell 2 types of attatchments to connect HDD's externaly.
One has a case, the other is just the connector.
Both come with an external PS.
Then you look around for any old or spare IDE or SATA HDD's going cheap as the connectors handle both.
I found by connecting an internal IDE DVD player via the connector, it bypassed the Contry Code lock on 2 laptops.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
