bought one new in thailand with xp pre-installed.

runs excellently, am using the hacked driver to allow 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600.

perfect for travelling and for programming radios etc.

but for not much more you can get a 'normal' notebook.

thaks hoe, yes i heard you can use the hack to better the resolution but is has to be done under the xp os. My main use will be just general stuff like internet banking, surfing the net, email, etc..

Then you would be MUCH better off keeping the Linux OS, alone for security reasons.

Holy moly. An for $498.70 + $17.90 shipping.

Very nice find mandc. Sure beats the $650 I paid for an O/S import.

the 700 were hanging around on catchoftheday for $327 yesterday in the small fish section.
I changed the os to xp, runs pretty good once you fix the video drivers to get some decent res.
Also run BT3 off a bootable flash drive.
What happens if I press alt + F4?

Use this fantastic to create your own version of XP using nLite, which boots in 30sec. Probably best to copy it to a word document as the process is long and detailed.

Use one of these guides to load it without an external drive.

Yeah, but at least you can fit more than 2.5 icons on the screen.
