yes it sucks the way programs don't completely remove themselves.
Nero does have a clean tool which is supposed to remove remnants
link for Nero 8 CleanTool
i am so sick of this!!
you start off with a certain amount of c: drive space, you uninstall an app to make room for the new version.
install the new version, shit it takes up a heap of space, better go back to the old version.
uninstall the old version only to find you have nowhere near the space you started with.
whats up with that??
this happened when i installed nero 8 and then uninstalled it straight away, i somehow lost about 800mb c drive space
can anyone find it?

Could be in your temp folder... grab ccleaner, read the instructions so you don't delete stuff you may want or just jump in and get ithere
Typically stuff gets added to the system directory and doesn't get uninstalled as it believes other system may need the software/driver that is installed into the system directory
Some stuff is stored also in Program Files\Common as this will allow other software to utilise it as well.
Installshield keeps a copy of the setup/language files so that repairs and maintenance can be done. This is in Program Files.
Temp directories would be full of the unpacked installation files even though you uninstalled it.
Best way to find out is to use a Virtual PC. Scan the C: drive Install/DeInstall and then re-scan the C: to compare against original setup.

The map at the bottom might not make sense at first but its very handy.
Nero? Ha, try Roxio 10, then you'll know what garbage really looks like.
I spent a couple of hours a few weekends ago on a friends PC getting rid of this cr*p.
they even half admit on their support page that it cannot be cleanly uninstalled..
Comfortably numb...
And NO, Google is NOT my friend...
Try a norton program. rlmfao
I would rather have virus/spyware/malware than any norton product on my system.
switched straight back to Nero 6
