LOL, I have a relative who couldn't sell his pristine 1973 Monaro for the price he wanted and it was a loooot less than this. He decided if he couldn't get the price he would keep it (and get a respray) and then joined up to the local car club. In the mean time he has what he calls outrageous offers, nothing like this but the reboot of the Monaro by Holdens definately brought their popularity back.
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.

I'm pretty sure you are right urban_s0ulja, Monaros do go for a lot of money, and are the perfect car for an overseas scam. I'd be leary of spending that much without seeing the car with my own eyes.

Mine was a powder blue 327 GTS, 2 speed powerglide without the GTS stripes.

Apparently they built a few automatics at the end of the production run, just to use up parts, the option to remove the GTS stripes cost a few dollars more. Like I posted earlier, I wish I still had it, it was a blast to drive. A bit of a sleeper as well because I replaced the 327 badges with a 186S badges, that sure fooled a lot of wannabe's.

    Ahhhhh Glory Days.

Thanks to the mod who moved this thread, I was a bit sleepy last night and posted in the wrong forum.

Yes about 2 years ago i was looking for a 2 door LJ to drop a RB30 turbo into and yes full of rust and people asking far too much for poor examples.

The guy who modded my sons Xbox has a L.E Monaro sitting in his garage undercover.
Any one remember them???, purple with gold pinstripes and gold honeycomb wheels.
I use to hate that particular model but must say after not seeing one for 20 years it really looked nice.

How many good Ht Monaros were around years ago going for less than $1500 back in the mid 80's.
Try finding a good one for restoration now......

Damm nice cars when restored and done up old school style with pumped guards, tubbed and the deepest dished rear rims.

Many men have the same sad painful story.
