    can anyone shed light on e17 marrage details with abs 8776
    i have found HSN in 24c64 eprom but unable to clear E17
    Jtag ???
    anyone HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    blank the eeprom then write protect it. Thats it no more spoon feeding.

    Are you lifting pin 7 off the mainboard? then connecting the pin to 5 volts to tie it high? Are you using a 4.1 sellers? 5.3 Sellers don't work cam gets replys it not sure about.

    Once you flash the eeprom blank fire up the box and You'll see pics for a few seconds untill it trys to marry the card then you'll get E17 that's why you have to write proctect it.

    I've tried this as well guys. Tieing 5v to pin 7 doesn't seem to write protect it. I have connected it with a switch so I can try write protect it at differant times during the process and it still gets the data through regardless.

    I took 5v off the mainboard connector which seems to be the same as which powers the chip. I have lifted pin 7 off the board carefully also.

    Can anyone confirm that they have it working with this method. Best I can get is pics for 30 seconds after i have blanked the eeprom.

    Also if you write protect it when blank before the thing boots up at all it won't start the OS.
