    Unhappy htpc video input unco-operative

okay, so i'm a noob at this

i have a "fast" 939 based htpc with leadtek 6600 pci-e vivo gpu and a leadtek pvr (2000?) card, using wmce (vista)

i have been trying without success to input the s-video feed from foxtel (digital) so i can do basic time slip and recording even though the set-up is a little clumsy.. .. but so far no amount of fiddling will recognise the input

    my thoughts are :

the drivers for the tv card are vista compatible, but the input is stuffed (even though the remote works fine... there is a definite crack in the aerial in tv, but the s-video port seems fine

i can't seem to get the s-video input to recognise a feed for love or money

also, although the 6600 does tv out (to the trusty 68cm old tv) for dvd fine, and the pvr software will let me play that modality, still no tv noted

wmce does dvd and music, but fails to see the tuner card

i presume the tuner card has some problems

what i'd be happy to do is port the s-video through the s-video in for the 6600, but it appears the vista drivers don't include input, only vga/dvi/s-video out

    any ideas ?

can anyone suggest a vista compatible bog basic card that will allow input from the foxtel box (or in future a satellite feed) that may give me the options to time slip and record

the basic concept works fine, but it's a glorified media box, not the pvr i was trying to make

thx for any info and suggestions

Try your question mate. It's a great little forum, you should be able to find what you're looking for without any trouble.
