greetings members

i am somewhat of a hardware nerd, and inveterate overclocker, first of socket a and more recently with 939 based systems; i have not gone the intel road for many years, but am open to the possibility in the future

i am presently trying to tweak an htpc i built, and can't quite get my head around video input and manipulation (yet)

; in essence i want to feed foxtel to a home media centre (cheapskate IQ) and later ditch them for satellite perhaps, as i am less than enamoured with their content options having started as a subscriber in the heady startup days of last century, before they drowned their feed in advertising, and cut their channels into subchannels and then tried to sell back previous access as a more expensive "option"

don't get me started

i look forward to helping noobs with basic hardware and software problems, and absorbing the knowledge of geeks who know htpc

and i'll just hang around lurking in the other threads till i have something to say (usefully or not)
