    Default Red ring

Sister has 2 xboxes which are white one has this serial number 019093664607 &
    Product I'd 77117522019093664607.
I know it's old but the older brother wanted one and was thinking it might be a cheap fix.
I think the red ring is around the power button?

    copied from another thread:

There is only one "real" reflow machine in Australia that is accessible , it's a later version of the one MS use for repairing these.
User cwispy from Ausmodchips, Perth supplier of console mods, parts, installs, repairs, RRoD, e74 Repairs

Most people claiming to repair these are just using a paint stripper / heat gun.

I dont agree with the only one accessible reflow machine but yes beware of the heatgun although i will add that i fixed a few E74's with a heatgun (and thermocouple) prior to getting a reflow station.

Please point me to another company that has spent $54K on an APR5000 with all the necessary add ons ? that is accessible for this kind of work ?
This is the same machine ( except a later version ) of what MS use themselves.

Don't bother pointing to any of the rubbish that is being sold out of china on ebay that is only marginally better than a heatgun., I am talking about the real thing.

I'm confused! Maybe I didn't ask the right question? What is this red ring and how can it be fixed?

From what i gather, your problem (Red Ring) is accociated with your board needs to be reflowed.

I've had a computer mobo reflowed by cwispy and he used a proper reflow station. It's worth giving him a call. Very quick and very professional.

Yes it can be fixed , it's needs to be reflowed and only Person in Australia that has the Real equipment is Cwispy , There are other ways for sure that will give you a short term hack ( not fix ) but it will fail again , just look on youtube and you will see how to cook ( destroy ) it with a paint stripper gun.

Reflows still fail after a while(even if done properly/correct equipment)....have had many from M$. Issue is a piss poor design of product. With the cost of a slim these days it seems hardly worth it considering the time taken to repair.
