Palmac, if you want you can just buy one off me.

Try it out and if you can't get it working with ubuntu/vmware, just send it back and I'll give you a refund.

    Warbo thanks,

Dreaman was kind eneogh to loan me one to test, if I can get it to wortk I'll get one or two off you.

Plugged it in to Ubuntu CCcam and the the device is recognised but the NDS card unkown! Could I have the same britty brail problem that jimbo123 spoke of in the first post?

Also of note is that I'm running VMware (vitual machine Win2k3) I'd love to get this sucker going as my serial reader speeds are not great with the serial reader on NDS.

    Thanks P.

What do your Linux logs tell you ?

Tail /var/log/messages while you remove and re-insert it,... if you get similar logs to what I saw, (i.e. device disconnected), then just remove brltty as I mentioned in Post #1.

Just a note not to fall for the following trap.

When overclocking your card in CCcam using this line:
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 6860002

Be sure that there is no SPACE between the word FREQUENCY and the COLON otherwise this line becomes invalid.

If your unit is set to autoswitch and you make this mistake, then the card might be read at 3.57 or another lower speed than what you intended.

I take it you're not a Unix user then ?

At a shell prompt,.. or navigate to the file with your GUI and take a look.

I am usingDM7020 running Gemini 4.4 Itry and instal the updates via telenet but keep getting the following error?

    root@dm7020:/tmp# ipkg install kernel-module-ftdi-sio_2.6.12.6-r7_dm7020.ipk
    Nothing to be done
An error ocurred, return value: 4.
    Collected errors:
    Cannot find package kernel-module-ftdi-sio.
Check the spelling or perhaps run 'ipkg update'

I also tried ipkg update and got another error 1 value.

I placed the DM7020 drivers in the /tmp directory.

    Any clues?

I bit the bullet and went to the latest PLi 18/7, image the Smargo was found immediately, Only warning I would reccomend you do not update the control panel etc as this will reward you with a Black screen and require a serial reflash.

Now to figure out the configs.....

    Strange but true.

I'm sure you'll be happy with PLi cmoore, try Xline as a skin too (that's my favourite)

The Blank screen problem I found is the DM7020 booting into HTTP bootup mode, it thinks you want to update the Firmeware, a reflash fixes it.
