I hope the operation goes well for him.

But remember, here in Australia its the little things that kill. Like Sun cancers that are barely more than 1mm deep.

I just had one removed from my leg that was about an inch across. I have another on my arm, half the size which will be removed in March.

I have numerous ones on my back which I am treating with cream but will probably end up being cu toff.

All the years of running around in the tropics without a shirt on.

Why wait until March if there melanomas and they get 1mm deep your in serious trouble of them travelling through your bloodstream and that could be fatal

The joys of the public health system I would say. Even having cancer doesnt mean you get instant surgery (unless you have private health insurance)

I have been watching my neighbour get the run around this week. He has been in agony from a hernia for 5 days and has been taken away in an ambulance twice. Back home both times without any surgery done, too busy.

I am lucky in the fact that they are on the surface & will be scraped off.

Most of you could well do with a lesson on bone cancer too then, it starts painlessly in your bones and by the time it is spreads you have no chance - and it is very common in 'western' Queensland and parts of the NT as well. Nobody I am aware of has even bothered to try and find out whether it is Flouride in the bore water or radiation fallout from Maralinga that has caused it but plenty of 50 to 60 year olds in those areas die from it.

    Jesus on a stick ! I'm hoping that didn't start as a testicle !

Ah, I love a conspiracy. Everybody knows flouride doesn't give you cancer. It's a mind control substance Well that's what I heard when I was last in Alabama ! Don't forget Mobile phones and Brain cancers.
Maralinga is a looooong way from Western QLD.

Bone cancer doesn't get much of a mention from the ABS.

A bit more digging and comparison to other countries, there isn't anything out of the ordinary for Australian incidence of bone cancer.

    For bone cancers in general;

Osteosarcoma is the most common type of primary bone cancer and affects mostly people between 10 and 25 years of age. It often starts in the ends of bones, where new tissue forms as children grow. It occurs most often in the knee.

Chondrosarcomas, is another common type in adults over 50 years, forming in cartilage, usually around the pelvis, knee, shoulders, or upper thighs.

Ha ha, how about ABS statistics on leukemia in Emerald in Central queensland - also known to be caused by flouride in some rare links?

I had testicular cancer back in 1977. My right testicle was removed and had 2 years of treatment which included radiation & chemo.

35 yrs later I am still here to talk about it. I have all the usual tests for bowel cancer & prostrate cancer & they are negative.

The treatment I had was very harsh & it seems that it may have killed off most of the cancer cells. The skin cancers are on the surface & are usually scraped off, just leaving a round mark.

I suppose I am lucky because I still stand up to piss & still keep the missus happy without any drugs,
