Hi - I live in a big block with like 2 houses pretty much side by side. One has a satellite dish on it.
Is it technically possible to put in a splitter and use their dish?
I just dont see the need for 2 dishes when I could easily run a cable of my own. I've done the same thing with the standard free to air antenna no problem. Just checking if satellite is any different.
I understand to actually view programs I still need a subscription.

Leroy is on the money there here is a twin LNB simply swap the existing LNB for this one rotate the skew until you have good quality of signal then run the extra line to the second house.
what do you mean by rotating the skew? Do you mean turning the LNB and if so how would this help improve the quality?
The reason I ask is that I have just installed a dish for my mum so she can watch selectv. I have 60% signal and 0% quality. Hve no idea WHY ????
any suggestions?
I agree.....Twin LNB is the go.
Splitter will give you grief when on different pol channels.
Cheers
Yup use a dual lnb m8 that will do the job.
