They don't have to leak, if any have the top slightly concave (ie bulging) indicates a problem. Look and compare all the capacitor tops to be certain they are all the same and flat.

Ok mate this is what I would do

Strip the computer down IE take mother board out clean it down with a brush Take the memory and get your self a rubber and clean the gold contacts (i have fixed so many computers With tarnished contact nice little earner )
    Reset the processor
Clear the Cmos battery to default
leave all the HDD drives, DVD, CD and all cards like network modem ect off the board

So all you have on the bench is the mother board, memory, keyboard, mouse, power supply and monitor

hook it all up and use a small screw driver to turn the computer on by shorting the header where the power switch connects to the mother board

If the screen does come on you can short the power supply cable header to turn it on

Normally pin 14 the green wire Short this pin to GND to switch power supply ON, disconnect from GND to switch OFF.

I have found if you just short the green to the black pin (13) and at the same time shorting the power switch she will turn on

    Have fun and take care

    Is your speaker connected properly?
Make sure ALL the cards are removed, a dead card can/WILL stop a pc from posting.
Ram usually beeps quickly during post if faulty or not seated.
cpu can make it not post
and most certainly a mobo can.
What happens if I press alt + F4?
