360 Dash update

a question that i probably should know the answer except by experience is with jtags and not stock consoles, i have a xenon with hitachi 78/79 dvd drive and i want to update the dash, 1) can i just update via USB without incremental updates (13604 to 14599) 2) will the update erase LT from the drive- i do have the OFW but cant be fagged opening the console up.

you can update without incremental updates - no problems there
on point 2 - not sure if every dash update wipes out dvd drive flashing or not

From dash 13146 it flashed drives....but I dont think you can flash early(i have an older 47 & it wont accept the newer dash) Hitachi's(older technology)....only 78/79 i think still will.

Hello, can anybody tell me if its true that even after updating/flashing my disk drive I won't be able to play even original copy of newer games like Winning 11 2012 let alone the copied versions. Thanks

Seems like Hitachi 47's accept 13604 dash update(13599 kept on bringijng up an error) but it does NOT flash the dvd-rom back to stock....not sure same will apply on a 78/79 though

Chrismask: If you could play originals b4 u can still play them after an update...backups will depend on the drive(see above).

Thanks for the good news Ljay. The only original game I have played on my modded console was Guitar Hero Warrior of Rock since it was bundled together with the guitar hero set and works perfectly fine. Haven't tried others though.
