Took delivery of the Mitsubishi today . Just have to organise my fridgy mate, happy days.
I have a Daikin split inverter now for a few years, never let me down, paid $7 or $800 for the back to back install in the middle of Christmas during a heat wave.
A few members here recommended this brand to me and im very happy with it.
My Ducted gas heating system failed last year and we used the unit in heat mode all winter, house was warmer and our electricity bill increase was less than the usual gas bill increase in winter.
Buggered if im fixing my gas heating now.
Summer the house is like a fridge.

I have helped a friend install a few split A/C's and he only likes to install 3 brands - Mitsubishi, Daikin & Fujitsu
Reasons - they have spare parts, and as he says, go there only once, everyone is happy

Just spoke with an LG service agent and he said that LG has become allot better than what they used to be. He cannot purchase LG units through LG due to conflict of interest with other LG installers. He installs Daikin and said their quality has dropped and they are now made in Thailand. I asked him what units he would install in his own home and he said LG, very interesting.
He also said that Mitsu units have also improved.
My current Daikin 8kw that is heading towards 6 years old is made in Thailand (checked the sticker) and I am sure the one in my previous house was also made there.
Without being rude (), if he is an installer and thinks LG are better than Daikin then he is talking out his arse or winding you up. Or aint all there
I have noticed the same thing when running mine as a heater. And the heat doesnt have the same dryness as gas ducted does which I dislike.
My only problem is that mine is at one end of the house. But I can run the gas ducted for 10 minutes and then turn the Daikin on heat. Its funny to see electricty being cheaper than gas. If I go solar power, I will get another Daikin split up the other end and retire the gas ducted system alltogether
Edit : Looking back through your old thread re: aircon, I thought you went with Mitsubishi and not Daikin ??
He is a well respected refrigeration mechanic with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He installs Daikin units daily and services all makes. This is one persons opinion
Sanity, can I ask you why you belive Daikin is better than LG? Not having a go just a question.
At last, fully installed today. Sydney weather has been so bad for weeks. This Mitsubishi is outstanding, whisper quite inside and out. My aircon friend was so meticulous with all his checks (top up of 385 grams of R410A), I feel many happy cool days ahead. BTY it was yakka work running 20 metres of pair coil and hauling cables in 35 degree heat. A great end to a hot day.

Must be a long run in order for more R410 to be required, glad its installed and working a treat.
Just make sure you clean the filters and you'll have no issues.
I have an LG ac unit. running since 2006. Only problem we have had was the heatsinc fan in the out door unit.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out.
I need to go on Mastermind: Special Subject, "The Bleedin' Obvious".
Perhaps it was that my mind was addled from the previos day's work when I was in a roof cavity and on hot tiles for the best part of four hours. I need to toughen up.
