    Default Dish realignment

    Hi guys

I need a dish realigned but not sure where to go. I've tried to do it myself but have been unsuccessful.

Can anyone help me out? I live in Sydney.

    Thanks

    hello gr81,
No answers yet, Just read your previous/similar post and I guess thats why
no one has responded. They gave you good info but you may be like me and it might have been too technical.
did you mark the pole before shifting it?
By the way c1 is at 156 deg not 166 deg.
intelsat 8 is at 166 deg.

do you have a cheap sat finder?

I find it can be done by moving dish slightly say from west to east locking it and then moving up and down ( again slowly ) and listening to the sat finder.
Then repeat again and again untill successfull.

I presume you will have your tv set on something like 12526 h 28800.

what ever you do done give up.

    regards flicker.

Hi mate we are all glad to help if you want to do it your self but if you need some hands on help you may want to more specific about you location as for example there is no way I would drive to Terry Hills even though it is still in Sydney, it is after all a big place.

I do have a cheap sat finder (small black one with tone) but I've tried many times to get signal and its just not happening. I have run out of patience.

....oh, and you may have to be a little bit more patient, as the weather doesn't appear to be on your side.... ;-)

Your a bit far from Penrith for me to help this weekend but if you are still strung out next week I could spare some time the following weekend.

that site is great. Use that in conjunction with $30 sat finder, then final adjustments with my dreambox. Those stats are really useful too.

To find C1, the easy way...

Set the elevation angle to 53 degrees for sydney.

Get on the roof at 11:30am, point the dish at the sun until the shadow of the arm is smack bang in the middle of the mast.

You are on C1 or REALLY fkn close to it!

gr81, you needs to own two satellite decoders ( one stationary and connected in my lounge room, and the other non-used sat decoder is excellent for sat tracking and aligning device ) that went reasonable quicker before your eyes. See pix at far left what I have done it with aligned eM-Tech eM-200 decoder.
