Default Vu Duo and third party remotes

Has anyone had any success with a Vu Duo and a Logitech Harmony ? Every third party remote I have tried suffers from lag, you have to wait for it to "catch up". And I have tried a lot of third party remotes, I have draws of them

I am currently using a Logitech Harmony 650 which does offer some settings in regards to this, does anyone have the same combo and had success fixing the problem ? I thought I would ask before going through a long process of changing numbers and rebooting the remote endlessly

I don't have a problem with the Logitech Harmony 515.

    Default Harmony one

I use one of these with the VU Duo and it works OK.

Aldi have the harmony 300 for $10 suck it and see and return it if you dont like it.

Got a 515 and have the problem with it. They are ok if you go slow, but if you scroll through channels or pages too fast it cannot keep up. The original remote does not have this issue.

The 300 is the much cheaper model of the 650, and has the same issues. While the Harmony remotes work, they simply dont work as well as the original Vu duo remote in regards to lag which is why I am wondering if anyone with the same issues has succesfully made any adjustments to the settings. I dont have any issues with any other components, only the Vu duo.

I can remember someone else mentioning the same issue on Austech, I will have to see if I can find it.

Ok, did a bit of googling and found out its a known issue. The only suggestion is change input delay and interkey delay from their defaults to 0 and 0.

Edit : It seems interkey is the one and can only be a multiple of 100 and between 100 and 300. As default is 100, I can only have 0 or 100 neither of which do anything to improve it.

I might stick to the original remote as I like my Vu Duo more than I like Harmony

My Harmoney300 from ALDI is the same,.. PITA. Fukin hate it at times. Sometimes it doesn't even do the Volume up/down on the Pana panel until after a few presses, then it seems to queue them up and you wind it all the way up/down when you didn't really want to.
But I'd rather the one remote than 3 or 4, so I accept the shit.

I have a Logitech Harmony 700 and have the exact same issues detailed above with the delay.

I often get impatient and press the button on the Logitech remote 10 times or so and then end up scrolling past the selection I wanted because of the delay between the button press and action.

It doesnt really annoy me too much and I have never tried to solve the problem as I only have the logitech remote for when I am sitting at the desk on the other side of the room and dont feel like grabbing the VU remote off the couch.

Normally I am sitting at the couch though so I just use the normal VU remote which works fine.

However if I were using the Logitech as my main remote I could see it very quickly pissing me off.

I would never dream of using another remote bar the original Vu remote.
It works that well, sometimes when I sit there pressing buttons in the dark wondering why the channels are going up instead of down then realizing that I'm holding the remote upside down, doh. But holding it backwards and it still works, haven't found too many remotes that do that.
And yes we do have 4 remotes on the coffee table. It's been a long haul but mrsweirdo has finally figured out which remote does what.

I can change the default settings myself as per my earlier post. Changing them doesnt make any difference.

It will work with virtually everything. If the device isn't in the database, you can still learn from your existing remote.

I wonder whether you could update a VAST box to the PVR software and then use a Logitec Harmony to provide the PVR button functions that do not exist on the non-PVR remote....
