Default Pal wii and ntfs games

Hi all have a wi, pal , it is modded with wiikey, just curious, as on most torrents i come across are ntfs , besides the chip what else is needed to get to run,

2 games come to mind , i get the wii channel top left , eg donky kong, icon, i try and start game .

I then go to a total black screen , the wii remote flashes as if it has lost the sync,

Only way to beat it is reset the power.

I think you mean NTSC games, not NTFS (a file system format)

    I would suggest that you

    a) Make sure your WiiKey has the latest 1.9s firmware loaded.

    b) Get a copy of the Datel Freeloader disk

    c) Make sure that any out of region games have been run through WiiBrickBlocker or similar to prevent firmware updates to your console which could render it useless.

There are not a lot of games out there which are not available in PAL format, so probably best to try to find the PAL copy instead if you can. Also you may want to have a look at this

You probably need to set your wiikey to region free. You do this using the config disk. Just make sure you don't do any updates from NTSC games.
I use Wiibrickblocker on the ISO's to remove the updates.

Another thing I have also found is that some of the NTSC games require the Wii 'Screen Type' option to be set to 50Hz.

My copy of Okami does the same thing as the OP when it's set to 60Hz but works fine when it's at 50Hz.

Thats weird Tez, because NTSC is 60Hz and PAL is 50Hz, so one would think it would be the other way around. By default in Aus the Wii is 50Hz.

Yep the WiiKey 1.9s update rar'd up is only about 359Kb. Extracted it is about 40Mb. Just burn it to a DVD and run it, you will also want to run the config disk afterwards to make sure the region free is turned on as well. You can update the consoles firmware by getting a newer game like PAL MarioKart and updating from that.

okay , my wii is on 3.1e
and believe wii key is on 1.9b

So would running the config 1.4 disk, and going up to 1.9s solve the odd black screen i get .

At moment i can play mario kart fine. which i thought needed 3.2

Have tried turning region free on , and still get black screen on
superswing, game party and donkey kong all using tdk burnt at 2x speed

I see in the link before these games are an issue, can you get freeloader to work with them , and a image of freeloader work ?

If it detects it in the disk channel the 'region free' is set, otherwise u would not get anything & the disk would stop spinning.
If the game is compatible on a PAL wii, it must be a screen resolution setting to 60HZ will fix it....otherwise it just aint compatible.
