Keeping clean
I have installed an IP camera at our remote radio site and I find after 6 weeks the spiders have found it and had a web built across the front, not that it could be seen from the camera. I cleaned it away and cleaned the lens and it made a big difference.
Now the question what do you use to stop spiders, I had some Baygon we spray around the door seals and used that around the camera mounts but as it is out in the weather is there anything better?

Speak to a pest controller about residual surface spray. You want the stuff they use which only need to be reapplied a few times a year. Try and stay away from the domestic off the shelf surface spray, you'll find that it's useless on external cameras.
If your customer hasn't got a preventative maintenance agreement you may want to look at selling them one and incorporating the pest control into the maintenance.
