Hi all,
I recently purchaced a Pro2 5.8GHz Audio/Video Wireless Sender with remote control extender to get Foxtel in different rooms. It sends the signals great but the remote doesn't work in the other rooms? Any advice?

Yes the Foxtel remote only. It works in the same room as the Foxtel box but they say that with the remote extender you can use the foxtel remote in other rooms...
How many walls you going through? Also any other 5.8 ghz gadgets (phones etc) in use?
1 wall and other gadgets on 2.4, the picture & sound comes thru perfect, I just can't change channels in the other room.
some foxtel remotes use non standard IR frequencies when transmitting the IR signals
whats the specs of your IR sender/transmitter - the IR frequency range it can handle
34-45 khz is the usual range of the IR receiver - the odd ones use higher frequencies - 52khz, 455khz
Most of these receivers come in variations adapted to a specific carrier frequency. You should choose the 38kHz types because most remote control standards use this frequency. 36kHz types should work as well. The receiver won't stop working if your remote uses another frequency but the range will decrease.
There are also some brands that use 56kHz carrier frequency. A 38kHz receiver should still work to create a config file for these kinds of remotes at short range but if you plan to use them regularly you should use a 56kHz receiver. Bang & Olufsen uses 455kHz for their remotes so you will need a matching receiver. 38kHz or 56kHz receivers won't work.
I would say its the ir mouse use blu tac to position it about 5cm away from the
ir receiver experiment with it as in distance and angle it will work...had the same prob ...
thanks..got it to work....now my B&D garage door will not work unless I hit the romote from inside the garage..!! If I turn off the AV units it works...
Is there any way to get around this?
