    Depending on which navcore you previously had, upgrading to the 9.401 navcore often causes this problem.

    I suggest you do a clean install. Follow the steps below, using the 885.4021 map:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

    What answers to do like to hear?
    I have the same device and absolutely no problem.
    Even tried again with the archive I uploaded and it simply works.
    All I can suggest is that you re download to make sure nothing was wrong with the old dowload and try again.

    I am trying to update the Australia map on my GO730 to 885.4021. I have Navcore 9.430 and Fast Activate Premium 1.8.8.5. Each attempt to activate, results in an error message, "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-512". I have tried other versions of Fast Activate with the same result.

    Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

    Would help to know exactly what you did and what the log window of FA showed...
    I assume you have not clicked the first three buttons, starting from the left.

    Thank you Downunder35m for your reply.

    I followed the procedure of Post #2 exactly. I clicked all the Fast Activate windows sequentially from the left (having disconnected Home).

    The log showed:

    North_America-11.meta => .dct OK!
    Australia-512.met => .dct OK!

    After hours of unrewarding attempts to update my GO730 Australia map I executed a clean update of the device. This was successful. I have no idea why my careful update of map and FA were not.

    I did some testing and it seems FA is skipping existing activations.
    Not sure if that always is the case, but it might be a good idea do delete all .dct files from the device before activating a new map or voice/cam.

    Thanks a million for the simple instructions. I have successfully updated the latest map on my TT XXL540. One minor issue though. My gps says that the map version is 885.4021 but TT Home still say it is 860.4021. Can I safely update the QuickGPSFix and Map Share from TT Home now that I have tampered with the device?

    Anyone noticed missing info in the latest map?
    I tried to set home location and the street doesn't exist on the map.

    @Voyager: if you have a ttgo.bak/ttgo.ori in the root of your device you should check if they still contain the values for the old map.
    Also make sure to select the correct map if more than one is installed
    Home is still safe to use.

    @adrian:it's not missing, it is listed as "unnamed road", same for "Desley Court".
    You can use the map correction to report (other) the name of the missing roads and hope TT updates them in the next editions.

    Hi Downunder35m,

    There is no such files (ttgo.ori/bak) but there is a ttgo.bif.
    This is part of what's shown:
    RamDiskVersion=20120321
    BootLoaderVersion=55279
    LinuxVersion=842337
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9430
    ApplicationVersion=890926.2
    ..
    CurrentMap=Australia
    CurrentMapVersion=885.4021

    Nothing on the old map.
    When I plug into my PC & launched TTHome, it still says that my map is 20 weeks old.

    Thanks.

    I suggest you simply ignore it or do a clean install of NC and map.
    This error can happen due to leftovers too.

    Just updating my Go720...have followed the above instructions...get all the way to the last Fast Activate stage "TomTom Home" and it gives me an error...HOME Profile DLL Not Found. However the GPS seems to be working fine....should i just ignore this error?

    It only shows that you never used the simulation with the current NC, so don't worry about patching Home, all updates and downloads will work without.

    The first 3 digits 885_4021 indicate the map version. The higher the number, the more recent the map is.

    The next 4 digits 885_4095 indicate the map features, so the higher digits here do not indicate a more recent map.

    See the following compatibility chart that shows which features come with each map:

    In any case, v890 maps are coming out in a few weeks.
