As Downunder says, it's only a simulation used in TomTom HOME, so you can ignore it, UNLESS you need to save your favorites from the previous map. In that case, here is what you need to do:

    1) In TomTom HOME, go to "Operate My Go". Ignore any error message and exit Home completely. This creates the .dll profile needed for patching.
    2) Run FastActivate Premium from the root of the device (or SD card) and click on "TomTom HOME". HOME should now be patched.
    3) To get back your favorites, recent destinations and other settings, just follow this simple procedure below:

    Hi Guys,

Have a GO930 Traffic (with external FM traffic sensor, not live traffic).

All seems to be working fine except the traffic function. I suspect the map may not be compatible but I wonder if someone could confirm the correct map for me.

I checked tweety's compatibility chart but there is no mention of the traffic function, although my map (885.4021) seems to not be fully featured. I suspect 4031 might be better.

    App 9.430.890926.1, OS842337, Boot 5.5120, Map Australia 885.4021

    Thanks in advance.

If the map has a tmccodes.dat than it supports the TMC functions.
However, the 9.430 does not support the old TMC receivers - only the USB type and even with that you won't get a station.
But there is a sultion that worked fine for me:
From the 8.351 Navcore take the file mctx.dat (located in the root) and replace the one of the 9.430 with it.
In order to get the old receivers working:
Do a clean install of map and Navcore on an empty device - don't use your setting file, and don't use the mapsettings.cfg in the map folder either.
Replace the mctx.dat as mentioned above, connect the TMC receiver and now turn it on the first time with the new Navcore.
You should get the traffic bar and with good reception a green dot within 10 minutes, next time it only takes about 3 minutes.
If all is working do your settings and copy your mapsettings.cfg back into the map folder.
    TMC should now work fine.

Regarding the map version, there is no 4031 Australia map. The only v885 Australia maps are 4021, 4022 and 4095.

In any case, this 4021 map is the full featured map with the most features and really is the only one you need for your navcore.

    Success!

    I admit I cheated a bit though.

I only recently did a clean install so didn't want to do that again if I could avoid it.

I backed it up. Then removed the settings.dat, mapsettings.cfg, and mctx.dat from the device.

I couldn't find Navcore 8.351 anywhere so I used one from the backup from the previous version 9 Navcore. Traffic was working with it before the last update.

Plugged it in, started it up and Bob's your second cousin. Green dot within 3 minutes. map settings.cfg back where it began and all good.

    Thanks for your help guys.

    Hello everyone,
I have gone through heaps of pages and cannot locate the latest maps.
Can someone please let me know where I can find them?

I haven't updated since this time last year, so I presume there are new maps available for the GO730.
If anyone can help, that would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,
I think you are right. I have now booked in an appointment with OPSM.
If I am not mistakern (again) I should find the maps here in this post ... TomTom v890.xxxx Maps

    Right?

I located the 890.4278 link for the maps I believe I need, but cannot seem to get them to work. (The link that is)

I have added a post to that thread.
    Hoping someone can assist.

    Cheers,
    BV

I'll save you a trip to OPSM. Here are the links to the v890 Australia maps:

The first link is of course the IQ map which requires a v9 navcore. The other is the basic map with no IQ that will work with all navcores 7.8xx and up.

    lemonfish,
    You're funny.
Nonetheless, I think I will still get my eyes checked.
There is heaps of info staring right at me and I am missing it. LOL

Anyway, thanks for the link, I have downloaded it and will attempt this update tomorrow.
A quick question though, when I connect my device to TTHome, it suggests the following updates...
    Tom Tom Application 55.9mb
    QuickGPSfix 0.1mb
    Map Share updates 0.1mb

Should I even worry about theses since I am about to install the new maps?
If I should, should I do this before or after installing the new maps?

Finally, do I need to run the latest Fast Activate again after installing the maps?

Thank you for your help and info.
    You're a legend.

    G'day all,

Just got around to updating my Australia 870 maps to 885, but getting an error that I've never seen before.

When I run FastActivate (latest version available found on this forum) and click Maps/Voices/Speedcams, the only maps that are checked are Europe, New Zealand and North America. Australia is not listed.

When the SD card is inserted in the GPS, I get an error stating that this map cannot open???

I've followed all the steps to updating my Navcore etc...

Just wondering if someone can help me out here or point me in the right direction to resolving this issue.

    Thanks all!

Default Could not get file time on server.

Hi Can anyone help. I keep getting the message "Could not get file time on server" when trying to update the meta.txt. I've read some of the posts, stating to retry, run as administrator, but still no luck.

I have a TomTom 550XXL with the 9.465 Navcore and 910.4892 Aussie map.

    Any ideas??

I don't know why you are asking in this old v885 map thread. Anyway, if you use the latest version of FastActivate, you won't need to update the meta.txt, as it is already integrated with the latest version. And if you downloaded the 910 map from this thread:

you would see I have already included the meta.txt file with the meta code for this map. So you shouldn't have a problem activating it either way.

Remember: always use the latest version of FastActivate. Just patch the map. Done:

Sorry on all counts. I was using an old version of FastActivate and was trying anything to get it to work. Downloaded the new version and all good.

    Thanks for your help.
