Who is you VOIP provider
Hi guys
Just have a simple question..
I have got an ata voip adapter that plugs in to my modem.
I have all configured ok with and can make voip calls through my provider iinet.
However when i dial 1300 numbers sometimes i get the menu options:
" press 1 for biling.press 2 for customer service"..when i press the option i want it;s not recognizing the tone..so i get stuck in this phone call limbo!
my question is do i have to get a special voip phone ,,or is this a problem that people normally experience..i have a standard old school telstra phone set plugged into my ata voip adapter...i was wondering if i picked up a new voip phone ..would this help with the dialling tones?
Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have the problem, it works for me with iinet without problems.
What I suspect is your ATA doesn't have correct regional settings configured. Try to google for australian regional settings for your ATA. I have PAP2 and if you happen to have the same adaptor look in for settings.
I remember i had to setup my dialing plans for my router
might give you a clue to what you have to do with your router ???
Dialing rules is down the bottom of the page in that link
Good Luck

I love it when people ask questions and don't even bother coming back with some reply. It makes me wonder should we bother as well replying to posters with post count below 20?
Anyway, arrabista, if you are still with us and if you have Belkin ATA, get yourself the latest firmware and then disable DTMF in it (it's a bug and it work in opposite way).
Won't say anymore, unless I am talking to a live person there.
LOL you talking to your self again mate
