saving back ups to ext hdd

Just wondering if any one can help me with this problem. Have wii with 4.3E and home brew that use to be able to back up my back ups but now will only back up my originals only. keeps coming up with not a wii disc through gx loader or any other type of program i have tried to rectify this problem. has anybody had this also and how did you fix it?

I'd be checking to see if the disks are ok. Can you play them via the dvd drive? Backups are harder to read than originals hence your laser could be on its way out.

Have used different disc types but still not backing up to hdd but all the games work if just loaded as any original disc.

maybe use imgburn to create an image of the backup and put on your external drive with wbfs manager
