I doubt it, most modern cars dont.

I drained my GTR's fuel tank a few days ago seeing as its going to be off the road for 6 months, i removed the fuel pump sender assembly from the tank which gave me a large hole to run a hose into it to pump or siphon the fuel out.

Do you know where the fuel tank is?

If its low, under the car like mine its hard, in my case removing the pressure side of the fuel line in the engine bay did not help as it runs the pump for a few seconds when turning on the ignition to pressurize the fuel line then switches off the pump until the car is started.

In my case i did not want to start it as i would have flattered the battery cranking till all the fuel was out.

The manual shows 2 straps under the tank that release with a bolt at the front of each.
So it must drop to get it out.

The nephew has the fuel pump out to test it and it has quite a lot of rust scum on the pump and filter bag so I think there is plenty of water and crap in the tank to get rid of.

If it was me and i had that sort of cr#p on the pump i would be ripping the tank out and inspecting the in side after cleaning it out. I would suggest a fuel filter change as well just for starters.

Stop using the cheap sh#t fuel.

For me I drive to the next servo if i see a tanker there.

It's unfortunate but none of the openings will allow a complete flush.

I manage to get my tank down to about 1.5cm in depth at the lowest point in the tank where the fuel pump pickup sits before the hose pulled air.

Considering my sender opening is about 12cm wide it was enough to get a arm holding a sponge in to pull the rest out and wipe the tank innards.

Remember the sponge wont last long in petrol....you could try rags.

I've done similar in the past... pushed a rag around inside the tank with a piece of wooden dowel.

    Yeah that's a good idea.

Funny, I uploaded a drawing of the tank with the last post but it's not showing.

Where could it have gone to ?
