Hi all,
I have a W550i which has been a great little phone. A couple of days ago I decided to do a online update which sony Australia recommends. All good, connected it up and completed the update. I switch the phone on, it starts up and then a error message pops up "Configuration error. Please contact your service provider or service centre."
OK I email sony and said all I can do is take it to a service centre to get it fixed. Problem is they want to charge me for it but it was there update which did it. Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix it.
Thanks for any info.

When you flash/update SE W550i, there are two updates that are required.
1. The FS (File system) which is REGION specific, i.e Australia.
2. The Custompack, which is specific to the REGION and Service Provider.
I think what has happened is you updated the File system but not the CustomPk.
Did you use the "Over the Air" method or cable method to update your phone?
I did it over the net using the genuine Sony update program. After reading a bit I think it has installed a europe language pack onto it and thats causing the problem. You would think that if you do the update from sony australia it would install the right stuff.
Oh well. Trying to find the files to fix it now.
