    Default Opening .car files??

Hi everyone, I have a mobile DVR in my car and I want to view the recorded video on my pC but they are a .car file. From what I can tell it is a compressed file but i have no idea how to decompress or watch the recorded video.

    Does anyone have any idea???

    Cheers

    HS

.car is a valid file extension for the rarely used compressed archive created by CAR file compression software it can be opened by CAR Archiver or CAR Compressor.

It may be that the .car files that your DVR is creating are not the same as .car files used by standard PC compression utilities.

There can be various types of files with the same extension but totally different.

My Panasonic DVR creates files that are proprietary to Panasonic, although it seems they are some kind of AVI file - so try renaming your files to .avi and see if a standard player will play them.
