Default Rebooting itself everytime i go to change channel

    Hi
Can someone please help, everytime i go to use the TV guide button on the remote control it shuts down and reboots itself. I can change the channel using the up and down buttons but as soon as i go into the tv guide and use the up and down arrows to move it, it will start to reboot itself. Does anybody know how to fix it.

    Thanks

Could you be a bit more specific as to how long have you had the STB, has it got the latest upgrade and how long has this been happening, since 'Day One' or just recently depending on how long you have had it also your Region but I dont think that will help others to assist you.

same here, looks like we definately have a Major Meltdown.
I also note the Red Standby light on, the STB shows 0010 then will show 1401 (local time) then off it goes again along with a 'purple screen'.
    Time now showing 1410

This is a perfect example of when to have a placade reading
'We apologise for the Loss of Service and our techinical staff are working on restoring both Picture and sound as soon as possible'
Now wheres me bloody big hammer got to now???
    hahahahahaha

No great love for UEC either but because its hitting many I think the problem is very much elsewhere.
I dont know where VAST orignates from before it goes up to the Satelitte and down to us but whatever it is has taken out the whole system possibly and not just a few individuals by the looks of things.
We need reports from the other states to see how widespread the problem is.

I am getting the same problem here. I have now unpluged it as it just kept rebooting. Its my first real problem and I have had the box at least 2 years.

FYI I've got the same problem.

Should we leave the box on with it constantly rebooting or should we play it safe and turn the box off and try again later.

I know of 6 other UEC's in WA doing the same, including mine.
    All started this morning sometime.

I've found if you can quickly change the channel to 800 before it reboots, the UEC stops rebooting. It'll stay quite happily on 800.
Seems to affect V5.7 cards not V6.

    ****

On my V6 card, the reboot occurs when going to TV Guide.
When staying on a channel, it seems fine.

    I have just tied it,

& it is happening on both the Vast Standard STB & the Vast PVR STB too

for me it is happening with both the v5.7 & the v6.0 cards

I cannot set a recording from the TV Guide now without rebooting & this was working ok last night

channel changes from the info bar or the Number buttons or the UP & Down arrows seems OK

just selecting the TV Guide seems enough to trigger the reboot (after about 20 seconds on TV Guide)

This may be a good time when this returns to 'Normal' (????) to see about getting a '1800' Help line to call for 'outages' even if it only has a recorded message advising of any faults and noting the Time and Date of the fault so you will know the message is current and not one that is weeks or months old.
