Default Is your computer infected with DNSChanger ?

Just incase no one here has seen this story in the news....

TEN thousand Australian internet users are among 4 million worldwide who face a total internet blackout from July 9, thanks to a malicious piece of software that infected their computers without their knowledge.

That is the warning from the Australian Communications and Media Authority, which yesterday issued a statement appealing to internet users to check to see if their computers were infected.

The communications regulator, together with other government agencies, has set up the website dns-ok.gov.au to allow web users to check their computer for the malicious software and remove it if necessary.

A little more info for anyone who tests positive for the DNSChanger Malware.

If you are not affected by DNSChanger then do nothing. You are done here.

If the Check-Up Site indicates that you are affected then either follow the instructions on that site or run one of the following free tools listed below to remove DNSChanger and related threats:

Hitman Pro (32bit and 64bit versions)

    Kaspersky Labs TDSSKiller

    McAfee Stinger

    Microsoft Safety Scanner

    Norton Power Eraser

It'd make more sense to have the DNS servers direct all addresses to a site that stated the computer used is affected by a trojan and here's how to go about fixing it rather than simply turning everything off and going home.
