Your new drive has "standard" RPC-2 firmware. If you do a Google search, you might find some patched RPC-1 firmware for it. If you do, it goes without saying that you use it at your own risk.
Your old drive was either so old that it came with RPC-1 firmware, or someone had already patched it.
