Aussie mate you will have to change your LNB....
Hi guys
Well, I finally gave up waiting for a solution to get the dreambox working with the Austar sub and pulled out the old box ABS 8776.
I can't seem to get a lock on the sat, so I assume my LNB settings are incorrect. There are only two options on the LNB menu of 10700 and 11300. I have a dual LNB, and neither of these settings lock on the sat. The box is defaulting to a freq of 12478 sr 27800H fec 3/4.
I thought about trying a diff freq but can't seem to change it .. perhaps there is a hidden installers menu somewhere?
Can anyone help please.

Bump ... any Austar installers willing to tell me how to change the LNB frequency/setup. There must be a hidden menu somewhere
what specs are on your lnb?

Can't recall exactly, but it's a universal dual LNB I bought from hotchip.
Here:
If it's an universal lnb, the local oscillator frequencies are 10600 MHz for high band and 9750 MHz for low band.
For reception of Austar, you need to set the lnb to high band.
To accomplish this, the lnb frequency must be set to 10600 and 22 KHz must be set to "on" in the lnb menu of the receiver.
If there is no provision to do this in the Austar receiver, you will have to change the lnb to suit, as Old Mate has previously advised above.
G'Day,
Checked the site and there is a general paucity of information supplied.
Like buying a ' pig in a poke '.
Perhaps if you note down all(if any) details on the unit, we can help you further.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".
PS:
Seems he will have to use " Old Mate"'s suggestion or buy a unit compatible with his LNB.

Yeah, that's right guys .. no option to change only 10700/11300. That's why I am trying to find a workaround via a 'hidden menu' or something like that.
Looks like I'm climbing up on the roof on the weekend to put the old LNB back on
AussieM8...be careful on the roof...the boys are right 10700 or 11300 only
G'Day Day all,
Not really recommended, but try it just for fun.
Use the 10700 LNB setting and manually input the C1 TP frequencies PLUS 100 MHz.
Or the 11300 LNB setting(may only work on one or the other. No 22Khz), then input the C1 TP frequencies PLUS 700 MHz.
Perhaps there are more ways of killing a cat than choking it with milk.
This is called flageilation.

It's an MTI LNBF.
You'd need to inject permanent 22KHZ tone to switch on the high 10600 local oscillator, as tristen has advised.
As 22KHz = on, or TP freq changes are not an option on the abs ... you already know the solution.
Hey AussieM8
alittle late maybe but there is a hidden menu on the 8776 decoder.
called the recovery menu - not quite sure how to get into it.
It has an 8 digit password. Maybe a helpful installer looking on can help us with it.
Perhaps possible more info later today????
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)
I did a google search and came up with way to get into hidden menu of the
abs-8776.
I can access the TP setup menu to change the TP DFreq to 11966 and SR to
22,000msps...
now my abs-8776 can get all FTA channels on T5 TP-11966.
Installer codes....
Austar with early firmware - 2878 or 3452
Austar ADB series: 1234
Just change the LNB as advised......
