If it asks for a password in this case it is downunder.
Then type in the numbers that you see into the box.
Then click on one of the single arrows shaped like an orange V
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on slow download and enter the text.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and wait for it to time out then "click here to download now"

The user precious donated quite a few maps for me to download and convert, so I can offer now most of the Hema 2011 collection
    Also added my other maps.
Some of the Hema 2011 maps were protected so it was impossible to convert them directly into ECW maps or any other format for that matter.
I could solve that problem and also included these former protected maps into the ECW collection.
For all never ECW files the complete set of additional files are included so that you can easily convert them to other formats you might prefer.
I've also gone through the effort of converting all Hema 2011 maps into the new OZFX3 format which is faster and offers better quality.

These are all state maps as single maps
These are all state maps as single maps
These are all state maps combined into one big map covering all of Australia.
I removed all borders around the maps and changed the projection to give a less distorted image.
You might notice some cut text or area where two maps were merged but all is matched perfectly by combining calibrated maps instead of stitching the pictures together.

These are the detailed single maps in different scales and projections.

This map is still in OZF2 format as I was not able to handle the huge amounts of data for a direct convertion.
Currently trying to find a usable way to remove the DRM protection and reduce the data so that I can convert the map properly.
The map uses over 17GB Ram if fully loaded which is preventing all normal ways of getting it into other formats.
So give me a few days to get that sorted, if you don't care about the improvements of the OZFX3 format you can use the above link, otherwise I suggest to wait until I can finnish the map in OZFX3 and ECW.

Now the maps that are not published by Hema:

This map set has a filedate of 2009 and seems to be pretty accurate

This map comes from Meridian Productions and is dated 2003

Generated from a Garmin map, but no info on the Bluechart version or who created it.

Last but not least the maps I created:

It was created from the Garmin map found at
Since there is not much out there to convert Garmin vector maps into good raster maps I could only extract the roads and tracks not the user uploaded track logs.
You will notice that most names for tracks are missing, but that was the case in the original data.
From my tests the data seems to be accurate and almost complete.
I noticed that only open tracks are included but no management tracks of closed fire fighting tracks, which at least for me is not problem since you are not allowed to use those tracks anyway.
All of Australia is covered and I tried to get as close as I could to a proper 1:50000 scale factor.
The pixel scale is 1:10 meaning one pixel in the map equals 10m in the real world in 100% zoom.
To generate this data I had to convert over 300GB in BMP files, combine them, correct the colors and reduce the amount colors to finally create this ECW file.
I've done some tests and it looks really cool if you activate the 3D features in OZI or other mapping software, you need the terrain data though.
You can also use this map (or parts of it) to combine satellite images with the track infos, together with terrain data it gives a real realistic view of where you are in reality.

The OZFX3 map will take a bit longer as I only have 8GB of Ram and a slow QuadCore CPU, making map convertions painfully slow.
Once finnished I will share the OZFX3 map as well.
Be aware that I did not include a .map for the ECW map as I will upload a seperate map exclusive for OziExplorer.

26mb generated from online data based 2011 - it contains both the OZFX3 and the ECW map

I created this mapset from the V9.5 Bluechart pacific.
It is highly detailed and contains all signals, channel markers and depth info.
If I find the time I will update that map to the new Garmin G2 version.

This map is in 1:25000 and I created it from the Rooftop map dated 2009

So, like the Looney Tunes: That's all folks!
    PW: downunder
Is it possible to get the Hema maps in OZF2 format or convert them to OZF2 so they can be used with other apps. These seem to be the newer OZFX3 (RC4) which is not supported by allot of apps.

    Thanks

Is it possible to get the Hema maps in OZF2 format as OZFX3 (RC4) is not supported by a lot of apps on iphone or android or is it possible to convert these to OZF2.

    Thanks

You can use the ECW files as they have all data needed for using and converting included.
    Most programs support ECW directly.

I cant seem to get any of these ECW files to work in ttmaps just keeps throwing errors, can you please confirm. Older ECW files still work fine.

Depending on the Datum/Projection used ttmaps might not have the support.
Also it seems GlobalMapper still has the "bug" that Mercator maps are saved with "MrAfrica" in the header, if that is your problem it can be easily changed using the ECW Header editor (Freeware).
What maps are giving you problems?

I think your onto something as the error I get is "Unsupported projection (WGS84/MRAFRICA) for map Australia.ecw". Now how to fix it?

Use ECWHeader Editor and change MRAFRICA to MRWORLD or MRWORLD2, now ttmaps should be able to read it.
It is a common problem since GM assumes a local projection, many programs accept MRAFRICA but ttmaps does not.
If you want you can also create the needed parameters yourself using the MySQL plugin for Firefox but I think changing the header is easier

This has fixed any maps with MRAFRICA in the header but many maps are throwing Unsupported projection errors for example "Unsupported projection (WGS84/LOCAL) for map vic.ecw" or "Unsupported projection (AGD66/SUTM56) for map BribieIsland.ecw" and "Unsupported projection (AGD84/SUTM56) for map BrisForestParkEast.ecw" etc in ttmaps.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

AFAIK LOCAL is the same as MRAFRICA.
For all Datums/Projections not included in ttmaps you have the options mentioned on Jean-Claudes website : Change it yourself or upload a sample map with discription to him so that the new Datum or Projection can be included.
Last option would be to convert the maps into a suitable combination but this often results in badly distorted maps.
Some things like AGD84 are pretty close to other like WGS84 in that case. The resulting error for a small map would be only a few meters.

ECW files are in worse quality in "Hema2011 regional maps" so I converted ozf3 files into pre-RC4 format:
    1) save map as a png file in Ozi (File->Save map to Image File)
    2) copy and modify .map file (third line in map file points to image)
    3) use "Image to ozf" to convert png+map into old ozf3 format

The files only use 10% compression, so I'm pretty sure you won't improve the quality by converting them twice for no reason.
And in a direct comparison the ECW maps are of a better quality for most cases.
I don't know what programs you use but your statement that the ECW maps from the collection are of bad quality is simply wrong.
I suggest you check with proper software

Looks like they are from different sources. You can open ozf in ozi and ecw in Global Mapper.

Thanks for the great effort but I have a question that may indicate my ignorance Why does ozi display a different datum every time I open one of these maps? My original ones always show GDA94

More info - It's when I click the info button on the toolbar. It shows WGS84 in the check calibration screen

The reason is that some maps are recalibrated using the original Projection and Datum of the map.
Wherever possible I check the map and use the original settings to avoid distortion and get the resulting map as accurate as possible.
You could convert all maps to the same Datum and Projection but that would be like trying to push a square box through a round hole and only used if there is no other way.

    What direction do you mean?
For the use on a TT or the proper way with Ozi Explorer on Android on a CE device?
For the TT you only need ttmaps, add the map and follow the instructions on Jean-Claude's website.

Sorry to resurrect this topic, but I am trying to use ttmaps and have come across the same problem. I am struggling to find a copy of ECWHeaderEditor.exe - does anyone know where it can be found?
