Modding PS3

Is it possible to mod the PS3 or with all the updates they release it's just impossible and not worth it ?

I ask out of curiosity.

Anything with firmware 3.55 and below are fine to softmod but you will be

required to update to firmware 3.55 to do the mod. There are other

alternatives if your firmware is higher (Progskeet, E3 Flasher) these require

soldering to the board and will allow you to downgrade to 3.55 to install

custom firmware. Unfortunately alot of the newer games that are coming out

require higher firmare and are only patched by eboot fixes. True blue dongle

and JB king will allow you to play most of the newer games with eboot fixes

but this is another $50-$80 expense and also the eboot list is still growing

and isnt entirely large. Hope this helps
