heard a rumour that they were going to be about $350 to, anyone know if this is true?
Maybe on a plan but not outright!
Price is around $190.00 US.
Apple said is going to be same price world wide.
They want everybody to be able to afford it.
Old Dog, No Flies
It it's only US 190, I think a lot of people will go for that!!
199 us i think
but think about it
if they introduce a iphone for that much
they are going to MASSIVLY under-cut there own sales of ipods/i touch etc etc. No one would buy ipods anymore they'd all just get a iphone for convenice and convergence reasons.
i think the 199$ iphone is just marketing hype / bullshit, i had my significant other call me up this morning asking me about it. I almost fell off my seat i asked her, "do you know what a iphone is" and she was like yeh it was on the news... and shes knows nothing about technology/electronics that sort of stuff. but she knew enough to convince me to buy her one. I put down 2x$50 deposits with optus ( they havnt even disclosed the price of it yet) ?!?!
I reckon it might by 199 outright but u have to sign up with some contract.
I called up optus today as well and they wouldnt give me anymore info
199$ price is just marketing hype and i have to commend them on that they are causing quite a stir.
i estimate outright iphone prices to be around 699/899
no where anywhere near 199...
There is already 38 pages of covers and cases for them on ebay
It's hard to make a come back when I havn't been anywhere
I finally got my head together, now my bodies falling apart.
為什麼不做你被塞滿
Yea Urban, I thought the same thing about the Ipod Touches yesterday when it was announced, hmm I wouldn't mind a cheap Ipod touch to muck around with. I wouldn't expect the prices to be that high. I wouldn't expect it will be more than the current Itouch price.
As for the pricing check out AT&Ts communication at Its definately got a contract with AT&T for the activation which is the same as IPhone 1.0
As its an apple product, I'm waiting till 3rd generation for all the problems to be fixed with it though
Ohhh final thought: I know how Optus are going to make their $$ with this, its easy, its in the mobile net costs.
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.
Might be $199 but only on a $99 plan for the rest of your life.
Thanks u s.
Not too bad, except for the accessories from apple store only (cannot be good).
I thought that was an educated guess as well.
From the other hand, if I buy the phone from the Apple retail store in USA what problems will I face?
What is the deal with GPS maps, are they coming pre-loaded or we need to buy them separately? I guess TomTom wouldn't work on it, unless there is a version somewhere.
It's just seems weird you will be able to buy the phone in US from the store as well as from AT&T. I'd like to think the retail store will sell them outright or maybe only with a plan attached.
Who wants to bet a fiver that they are all gone in 3 days after they are released on contracts?
Not overly suprised with the plans, kinda what I expected, like I said to the inlaws tonight, I wouldn't get it until the net plans get better because thats whats so great about this phone.
As for buying the phone, from what I have read that if you buy the phone from an apple store in the US you still need to visit an At&T store to get it activated.
As for accessories, they will be avaliable everywhere in the end.

anyone know if this baby comes with an FM radio?
that link that Urban posted has been corrected. Says it was a mistake
My son actually asked about the iphone at Vodafone shop. They gave him all that "no information" treatment, but suggested that as far as they understnd the 8Gb one will be around $600 outright.
Looks like they are going to be offering it to be purchased outright, or with pre pay plans...
