Default just been shot now in for editing not yet releised

in newport rail yards in melbourne there has been two filming that has taken place and the Second has 4 days of filming to go.

1st is steven speilberg and tom hanks film for a mini series and is the follow up to "band of brothers" and is called "the passific"

"the passific" is set during world war 2 in the 1940's where some of the troops have been traveling by train during the war.

for the historic train organisation I volunteer with have had some involvment with this filming were we have painted a dieasel locomotive S313 to look like an american E unit numberd 758 and also made availible some historic victorian railways carrages with also some painting electrical work etc..etc..etc.... to hire to the film people as props and filming in and around as required to make the filming possible.

2nd with 4 days of filming to go with nicolus cage staring in this movie "the knowing"

inside the building of a section of the newport railway workshops is setup as a new york subway station and three carrages of an historic electric melbourne suburban train has been made to look like an american style subway train for the filming also.

in this seine nicolus cage is chaseing a bad guy along the station then onto the train and some time later the train crashes.

both of these filmings are expected to take around 2 years to edit before they are released to the public.
I volunteer with steamrail in maintance through to marketing and organiseing of a vintage train tour with vintage steam, diesel and electric trains and it's carrages that were once used in the victorian railways from late 1800's to current V / line service.

we also run tours and charters all over the victorian broad gage rail network.
