Tethering - Bluetooth vs Hotspot
Hi all, is there a difference in webbrowsing speed when a tablet (android) is tethered via Bluetooth comapred to if it was connect to the same via hotspot?
Reason I ask is that have a Nokia C5-03 and an Asus Transformer (Andriod 4.0) tablet. Seems andriod has issues connect via ad-hoc hotpsots created by the phone, though I connected up ok via bluetooth. When surfing the net on the tablet, using the bluetooth tethering, seems a bit slow. Is this because of the tethering or more the result of the actual phone, and would be the same even if it could connect via hotspot?
Thanks

With my iphone when I have hotspot activated, it is always quicker thru the usb cable, than via wifi.

The process I use is quite simple. I dont use the wifi. I use the bluetooth.
If you pair your phone to the tablet, this automatically creates the link to enable you to surf the net through your phone. You just have to have BT turned on for both devices while surfing.
I didnt find JoikoSpot any good for the tablet, and BT works fine for me.
Be careful too, depending on you data allowance with your phone plan, you could very easily chew through this with you tablet, and find yourself with a surprise over-allowance-data-charge.........happened to me, though negotiated with Virgin and was given a credit.
Hope this helps

I don't think there's any much difference between the two you mentioned. I usually just connect it to bluetooth because that's the only one that works for me and I have no problem connecting through bluetooth speed wise
