Just found a program call 'nmealogger' for the TT. Will install tomorrow and check it out and report back.

Good find, let us know how you go
Installed NMEALogger on my TomTom and can see data as it is being received. All I have to do now is figure out how to use the data. Downloaded GPSMapper it is supposed to look at NMEA data but trying to figure out how.

GPSMapper?
You can download tripmaster from their website too.
Why would you need logging in a TT anyway if I may ask?

I was hoping that I would be able to have a list of speed vs gps position.
Recently I set the cruise control to 95kmh the gps said we were doing 92kmh and the cops pinged us doing 118kmh uphill while he was on the other side of the hill the cops flashers was on before he crested the hill. 26 kmh discrepancy. Was just looking for future reference

It might be worth to ask for the complete picture and if none was taken (only the gun) to fight it in court as there is a good chance to get away with it.
If the angle is not correct enough or other things in the way the gun can't give an accurate reading.
Having a clean record also helps.
Generally you can say that the GPS 97-98% correct for normal driving and up to 99% when driving in a straight line at constant speed.
So the cruise control is within the normal work range in terms of being accurate.
You would need a log that basically has entries every few seconds which is impossible to do during navigating.
Check the shops and Ebay for GPS logger with built in cam.
I use one for longer drives and it records the date, current speed and gps coordinates within the video - best thing to have if you want to proove a certain speed or that the lights were still amber.
