VAST box to two TVs

Can someone tell me if it is possible to simultaneously have one TV running off the HDMI output from the box and another TV running from the YPbPr/audio outputs?
I realise the TVs would show the same program.

It probably is, only one way to find out, worst case is youve spent a couple of bux on a component lead.

I run composite to a modulator and hdmi to my pana plasma, works fine.
The hdmi does freak out sometimes and I either change the vast box's res or turn the box on/off and it works again

Yes you can. Iv'e got a setup whereas my vast box is connected via an HDMI cable to one TV in our family room and the other is connected from the video out and audio out by a long cable that i made up and that's running to wall socket and through the ceiling to our bedroom TV. the only drawback is that you have to go to the room where your box is to turn off or change channels. If that's what you want then yes it does.

Though that can be rectified with an IR transmitter.

And toyboy11, that setup is just what I had in mind. I already have a great IR tx/rx system from the bedroom to the main entertainment area, so I am all set to go.

Mr Guppy, beware of adding IR room senders to the mix.
I bought a set of 2 receivers and one transmitter (5.4 Ghz) and the IR appears to use a UHF frequency to transmit from the receivers to the base and with both receivers ON, this prevents the IR from functioning.
If I turn OFF either one of the receivers, they work correctly.
Changing channels on the AV units has absolutely no effect on this 'jamming'
I also have an older 2.4 Ghz set that I run in conjuction as the IR sender only to the STB, the AV connections are currently not being used but I propose to get organised and one day and sort that out..
Running both the newer 5Ghz and older 2.4 Ghz together seems to cause no problems bewteen each other, the problem I had the 2.4 Ghz AV sender was a 2.4 Ghz cordless phone now replaced with a 1.8 Ghz version.

That is fairly uncommon, though best bet is to use gear of the same brand.

Gordon; a battery mounted (in remote) IR transmitter may help as it moves the transmitter away from the receiver potentially reducing interference.

no nbound, its the 2 receivers transmitting together to the base unit.
It seems the remote receivers transmit continously, not when it picks up the operation of the R/C so you have two open transmitters on the same frequency.
The base unit has a red indicator panel that illuminates when it receives the 'signal' from the remote receiver but with both plugged into the power, on comes the red panel and wont go out.
Now you cant move them anywhere 'out of range' of each other for very obvious.reasons.
One receiver is on the TV in the kitchen, the other in the bedroom and its rare both are on together so the Grand Plan is to switch off the one not in use, brilliant eh??

Dont matter what the lighting is or if it is on or off. No Plasma TV's either.
I have moved the receivers around to different rooms and still get the same effect as soon as the mains is connected.
Turn one off and they work perfectly.
This only affects the IR being sent, not the AV at all.
