MTV, would a powered USB hub work to 'power up' the USB stick and perhaps reduce the current draw on the STB port?

Am I imagining it or is the remote a little more sensative than before ?

Gordon, to use the Dish Alignment Assistant, press the help button when the box is booting up.

I posted a tutorial on this here:

With the firmware upgrade, the non-PVR boxes can now access this feature.

Ahhhh thanks MTV, I was looking for it once it was operating.
I obviously havent read the 'Tutorial' although I saw it mentioned as I had no interest in getting any STB PVR ready and I honestly didnt expect to see the OTA this decade or the next (apologies UEC).
I can see the sense in doing it on 'Booting Up' because you wouldnt need to use it if you can see the channels.

I thought it was weird too, as I was sure I read about the WD being OK from you & other UEC trial crew, however that is a direct copy paste from their website

I've tested a 1TB WD external HDD drive on the VAST box as well.... no problems.

I would have expected more of an issue with the external enclosure USB interface, rather than a drive itself.

The other thing to note is they list a couple of 2TB HDD yet they don't say anything about only 1TB being available as stated by you during & after the trial.

Thanks OSIRUS, its good to know that WD drives will work.
Was there 1TB or 2TB available on the 2TB HDD?

I'm sure MTV stated that only 1TB of a 2TB drive is available & MTV isn't prone to rumor mongering, so I'm sure he tested this & is right.

Yep... UEC specify the maximum space allocation on a HDD is 1TB.

Larger drives can be connected, but only 1TB of space can be used.

I wonder why UEC are saying all Western Digital Hard Drives are NOT supported... ?

found another page that says the same

could it be that they may have a backup program already on the Drive .... or something else ?
